Doris Williams
Irondequoit: Passed away peacefully on Monday March 29, 2021 at the age of 83. She is predeceased by parents, Herbert and Claudia Johnson; husband, Alphonso Sr.; daughter, Shirley Ann; sisters, Gladys and Idell; brother, Marvin. She is survived by her son, Alphonso, Jr. (Cheryl); daughter, Thandie (Leroy); grandchildren, Andre', Emmett, Alphonso III, Joshua and Rose; great grandchildren, A'Son, Trejzur, Ty'Jhere and Jazarah; sisters, Inez, Clarine, Voncile, Mildred (Raymond), Carolyn and Gloria; brothers, Tillmon (Annette), Clifford (Marilyn), and Carlton (Jessie Mae); best friend, Jane, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Doris was devoted to her large extended family and will be forever missed. To her many friends in Rochester, NY and snowbird friends in Sebring, FL, both the Irondequoit and Greece Rotary Clubs, family and friends of her special friend, the late Patrick Bonacci, thank you for welcoming and embracing her into your hearts and lives. Your friendships gave her the happiest times and greatest memories of her life. Please know that she treasured them all and each of you.
Heartfelt thanks to her dedicated and caring medical teams, Dr. Brian Yirinec and staff of The Pluta Cancer Center, there aren't enough "thank you's" to express our gratitude for all the years of the patient and loving care you gave our mom. Dr. Passero and Team of the Wilmot Cancer Center with special mention to Jillian Sattler, SW URMC, you always went above and beyond for our mom, you held a special place in her heart, Dr. Christopher Caldwell of Genesee Surgical Associates, who was always patient and understanding, Dr. Herman and Team at RRH, thank you for your kindness and sensitivity in helping our mom through the difficult decisions that had to be made, Colleen Hunter, RN, Lifetime Care, thank you for helping us to fulfill our wishes, and to The Hilderbrandt Hospice, thank you for your care and professionalism shown to our mother and family during this journey.
The family would like to thank everyone for the cards, phone calls and expressions of support. Your kindness and concern filled our mom with joy. We are forever grateful.
Her family will receive friends Thursday, April 1, 4-7pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Highway So.). A private funeral service will be held with burial following at Riverside Cemetery. Due to COVID restrictions, there will be no reception/repass following the burial. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Pluta Cancer Center or Wilmot Cancer Center in her memory.
