Obituary of Joanne R. Simons

Simons, Joanne R. Webster formerly of Irondequoit. Monday, April 26, 2010 at the age of 82. Pre-deceased by her husband Bert and grandson Michael Burbank. Joanne is survived by her loving children, Janet(Steve) Boyle, Julie(Tracy Miller) Simons, Carol(Chris) McFarland, Christine(Simon Pontin) Simons, Donald Simons and David Simons, grandchildren, Jay Burbank, Leigh Burbank Rovegno, Geoffrey McFarland and Maggie McFarland, great granddaughter, Charlotte Elizabeth Rovegno. Joanne worked for many years as a choir director, organist and music teacher in Salamanca, NY and retired from the Seneca United Methodist Church in Irondequoit as the Choir Director. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi service sorority , the American Association of University Women and was a great lover of J.S Bach, Chautauqua, Delft and the Cleveland Indians. The family wishes to extend a warm thank you to Dr. Robert Caifano, Dr. Harold Lesser, Lindsay Holmes, RNP and to the caring staff at the Maplewood Nursing Home. Her family will receive friends Friday 2:00-3:00pm at the Maplewood Nursing Home, 100 Danile Dr., Webster, NY in the Garden Room where her Memorial Service will follow at 3:00pm. Interment will be held in private at the Chautauqua Cemetery, Chautauqua, NY.
