Obituary of Robert Dickson
Dickson, Robert
Irondequoit: Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the age of 77. Predeceased by his parents, Stuart and Martha Dickson and brother, Charles Dickson. Bob is survived by his adoring wife of 54 years, Kathy Dickson; children, Christopher (Marion) Dickson, Michelle (Aaron) Stopka; grandchildren, Abigail, Zachary, Isaac, Asher Dickson, Benjamin, Charlotte Stopka; sister, Melanie (Ray) Spadafora; sister-in-law, Karen Dickson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
Bob was a faithful servant of family, education and music throughout his life. In our family, he was a devoted husband, loving father, doting grandfather, beloved brother, favored uncle, fun-loving cousin, and loyal friend. He was a dedicated educator in West Irondequoit for over 30 years, adjunct professor at St. John Fisher College, and represented West Irondequoit Central School District on the Monroe #1 BOCES School Board, serving as President for the past several years. He was also an active member of the Chorus of the Genesee, which is a part of the Barbershop Harmony Society. Although Bob and Kathy loved to travel the world, they were frequent flyers to Houston, Texas. Overall, spending time with family and friends was his favorite pastime.
His family will receive friends Friday, September 3, 4:00 - 7:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Highway So.). Friends are invited to join the family Saturday, September 4, 11:00 am at St. Kateri at Christ the King Church for his funeral mass. Interment White Haven Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to West Irondequoit Foundation, Monroe One Educational Services or to Chorus of the Genesee. Please click on the "Donations" tab to make a donation.
