OMG! Dave was the very first friend I ever made. We bonded the first day of Mrs. Laniak's kindergarten at St. Thomas School in the fall of '58. We had what they today call "playdates" at each other's houses. He came to my first birthday party. Dave and I lost touch when I left St. Thomas for Seneca School in the fall of '61 but reacquainted when he came to IHS. These passing are a poingent, sad and somewhat frightening reminder of our mortality. Rest in peace old friend.

i've known dave and paul since iroquois school. great guys and great fishermen. all 4 brothers enjoyed fishing on black lake at every chance they got. may they rest in peace and find that big black lake in the sky and fish forever!

To The Boekout Family, I am very sorry for your loss. I met Dave about 15 years ago and in some ways automatically clicked with him because we shared the same interests and societal viewpoints. I had many interactions with him but on occasion I would catch him at the Irondequoit Bay Outlet watching what was going on at SeaBreeze Harbor. In these instances, we usually talked about what was up in Town and what we were looking at in front of our faces. Suffice to say, Dave always had a different perspective than me and that was a bit perplexing in the moments. I always went away both reflecting on and appreciating his point of view, because he was often right. Dave was a great person and I am grateful to have known him.
