Obituary of Vira Kotyk

Vira passed away at age 84 in Webster, NY on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, with her family at her side.

Predeceased by her husband, Yaroslaw; brother, Konstantyn. She is survived by her daughters,  Iryna (Vasyl) Chepil, and Tanya (Alex) Dashkevich; grandchildren, Grygoriy (Maryana) Chepil, Mariya (Leo) Chepil-Ivanov and Mark Dashkevich; sisters, Valentyna Shydlovskiy and Kateryna Stelmakh. 

Vira was one of the strongest, kindest, most courageous and loving women to walk on this earth and her family was blessed to have her as the head of the family.  She graduated from Odessa National University in 1959 with a degree in Geology and Geography. After graduating, she went on to pursue a career in education as a teacher.

 In 1962, she met Yaroslav Kotyk.  Together they raised two daughters, created happy and devoted family. Vira always was a wonderful and loving mother and wife, who gave her all to her husband and her children. She leaves huge empty space behind, she will always be loved and never forgotten.
 

Calling Hours will be held on Friday, October 1, 5:00 - 7:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Highway So.). Panachyda 6:30pm. Divine Liturgy and burial will be held in her hometown of Chervonograd (Hirnyk), Ukraine.
