Obituary of Karla Kathleen Poore

Karla Kathleen Poore, age 63, of Rochester, NY, went to heaven on October 1, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.

Karla, aka “Karly”, “The Diva”, “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong” was born in Richmond, VA on December 30, 1957 to proud parents Eddie and Barbara Poore and loving grandparents John and Nanny Farrell.

Karly was the first born girl,  and was adored by her siblings: Richard, Terry, Kristopher, Jake (Jenna), Kristina and Kelli.

Her nieces and nephews: Tess, Christian, Alayna, Logan, Brielle, Ian and Andrew loved spending time with their sweet, sassy and lovable Aunt. They cherished coloring with her, doing puzzles and Friday night dance party with her favorite boy bands Nysnc, The Backstreet Boys, One Direction and The Jonas Brothers.

Her cousins, Aunts, Uncles, in-laws and friends knew nothing but unconditional love from her.

Everyone who met Karla loved her. She had a hilarious sense of humor, classic one-liners, and a laugh that was contagious.

Karla leaves a gaping hole in the heart of the love of her life and best friend Bruce McConnell. The Karla and Bruce love story spanned over 37 and a half years and he was by her side until her very last day on this earth, saying goodbye with one last loving forehead kiss.

Karla was blessed to live in a beautiful CDS Monarch home in Pittsford with incredible staff and awesome housemates that were her cherished second family.

Karla was sugar and spice, a die hard Bills fan, and a true blessing to us all. Her love will never leave us.

In lieu of flowers, please feel free to adopt an animal or make a donation to any shelter in her name. Karly loved her fur babies.

A donation to the agency that has been her home for over 30 years and supports her beloved friends and her lifelong love, Bruce, would also be a loving gesture. CDS Monarch.

Memorial Services will be held at Harris Funeral Home on Saturday, October 9, from 11am to 1pm.  Memorial Service will follow at 1PM with Pastor Jim Grobe officiating.
