OH GOD I MISS HIM MIKE BEC HE AND I WAS HELP TOGETHER FROM KODAK RACING EVENT SHOW I NEVER FORGET ABOUT HIM SO HE IS GOOD MAN I WAS VISIT HIM ALL TIME FOR STUFF OF KODAK RACING HE ALWAY GAVE ME EVERYTHING SO MY MOM AND I MET HIM AND WITH HER EX KAREN DEAD TOO SO I NEVER FORGET BOTH TOO AND I LOVE U MIKE SO MUCH I HAVE PHOTO OF MIKE AND KAREN THEY KNOW ME I LOVE OF KODAK RACING NOW IS GONE I WAS CRYING WE LOVE U MIKE SO MUCH

Dear McCarthy Family I was so sorry to hear about Mikes passing. He worked with my father Howard Merritt for many many years At the Sheriffs Office. My dad still tells us stories from back in the days, about Mike and a few of the fellas staking out areas getting the bad guys and all the that went with it. He was well loved by everyone and one of Dads best buddies. May he rest in peace, and may God put is loving arms around you all in comfort and peace. Debbie Merritt Dumas

Mike was probably the closest friend I will ever have. From working with him at MCSO (even when he was my boss), to attending and camping at the races at Watkins Glen, to going to the NASCAR races and parties in his basement bar in Virginia, and our continued friendship through his last days. It was a comfort to me that I was able to be with him for a few hours the day before his passing. You will be sorely missed and may you rest in peace, my brother.

Big Mike, Ill never forget when you let me take your Corvette to my (1972) Senor Ball! I was the coolest kid at the Prom....All those fun times at Watkins Glen watching the US Grand Prix's and the road trips to Florida for the Daytona 500!
