Dear Thoburn Family,
I'm so sorry for your loss, though join you in celebrating Edith's 95 well-lived years. As the alumni director at Gettysburg College, I know she was a loyal and passionate alumna, and we were proud to count her among our graduates. She was a rarity, majoring in chemistry as a woman in the 1940s, and displayed her love of Gettysburg through staying connected and supportive in a number of ways over the next 73 years. I'm afraid I never met her - she attended her 50th reunion two years before I started working here - but I am impressed to see that she attended an alumni event in the Rochester area at the age of 90!
Again, please accept my condolences, and I hope that you are comforted by a lifetime of warm memories.
