I met Mary Lou at the Public Market many years back. Our Saturday schedules seemed to coincide! She invited me to join the Friends of the Public Market. It had been formed only a couple of years prior. I was a part of that organization for many years to come and worked closely with Mary Lou. While I have not seen her in several years, I have thought of her often on my Saturday trips to the market. She was a wonderful woman for whom I am grateful to have known. I am sorry for your loss. I’ve thought of Mary Lou many times over the past several days. I took many of her bridge classes and appreciated her dedication to the game and to her students. She encouraged me and others to try duplicate bridge. Without her guidance, I’m sure I wouldn’t have pursued competitive bridge. I have come to love it, and it was a life saver during the pandemic when I could play online. I’ll think of Mary Lou whenever I pass the Century Club on East Avenue. My condolences to the family.
