Isabel Alano

Irondequoit.  1/9/22, at age 101.  Beloved daughter, wife, mother and friend.  Predeceased by her parents, Peter and Francesca Leo; husband, Ralph; daughter, Anita; son, Peter; cousins, Jim and Cosmo Plantone and Dr. Amo Piccoli.  Survived by her son, Louis (Theresa) Alano; son-in-law, Merle Jantz; daughter-in-law, Peg Conolly; grandchildren, Jack and Bridget Alano; the Plantone family; the Ciaccia family; "like sisters", Carrie and Grace, and countless friends.

Born 7/1/1920 in Alberobello, Italy, Isabel emigrated to America when she was seven years old.  She studied and played violin with the Eastman Youth Orchestra, and was Salutatorian of her Jefferson High School graduating class.  She spent her entire working career with Langie Fuel Service.  After retirement, Isabel enjoyed a second career, creating the most exquisite corn husk dolls.

Isabel's Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 15, 10:30am at Holy Cross Church, 4492 Lake Ave.  Internment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.  Due to Covid, rather than a reception, a celebration of her life will be held this summer.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Hildebrandt Hospice Center, 3111 Winton Road South, Rochester, NY 14623, or to www.mrgreysstrays.com.
