My wife and I were shocked to learn of Jim's passing. I knew him from long ago as an attorney, but we were also members of the Canandaigua Yacht Club, and Jim crewed on my boat many a time. After a race he would join us as we enjoyed late Summer afternoons picnicking at the club. I will be conducting a Memorial Service for him there on Memorial Day, after the regatta, and welcome any information about his sudden and utterly expected passing. He was a wonderful guy and will be missed.

I am so sad to learn of Jim's passing. He was such a generous, thoughtful man, and a delight to know and talk to. A member of Greece Choral Society for the past few years, Jim was an important part of the choir, always prepared, always giving his best. As others have mentioned, he went happily out of us way to be kind to everyone. I still can't believe he is gone. The choir and I will miss Jim's warm presence.

I'm so deeply saddened to hear of Jim's passing. He was my neighbor and made me feel so welcome when I moved in to the neighborhood last year. He brought me plants, came over to say hi when I was outside, and stopped by just to invite me over to see his Christmas decorations (and ended up staying for long whiles to chat!). My time knowing Jim was brief, but he left a lasting impression of kindness, fraternity, and open-heartedness. He will be deeply missed.

Jim and I sailed together at Canandaigua Yacht Club. He was an entertaining crew member in his vintage Red Wings baseball cap, and stories about the Rochester community. I have many fond memories of our racing days, his kind manner and easy smile. He was also an avid year-round swimmer who amazed us with his ability to accurately tell the water temperature with his toe.

Jim was my across the street neighbor. He was so thoughtful and kind to my husband and I; often going out of his way to bring back a grape pie from the Naples Grape festival or bringing us a quart of blueberries from Green Acres. He will definitely be missed.

Jim was such a part of the Pittsford Musicals family. I had the honor of both performing with and directing Jim in many PM productions. Such a kind and caring gentleman. You will be missed my friend.

I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of Jim. My brother Paul introduced me to Jim years ago at Ontario beach where they played volleyball together. He was one of the kindest men I’ve ever met. Always with a smile on his face. I’m sure my brother is there to welcome Jim to heaven. My condolences to Jim’s family.

Jim and I go back to our days at Holy Redeemer School and Mcquaid. He was an usher at my wedding and we stayed in touch periodically over the years. Most recently he sent a note asking how I was doing and we connected again. So sorry I missed the notice regarding his passing and would have attended his funeral. He was indeed a very kind and compassionate individual and surely has a special place in heaven for his time and devotion in caring for his Mom.

I was so sad to hear that dear Jim had passed away. He had just attended the Pittsford Musicals annual meeting and I enjoyed sitting with him. We chatted about musicals, radio, jazz music. He was a great supporter of Pittsford Musicals and appeared in the chorus of countless productions. Such a kind and dear person. He will be missed by many. ❤️
