I was so saddened to hear that Mary Ann is no longer with us. She was an advocate and fighter for workers and women all over the world. I remember working with Mary Ann when she was an officer at the Rochester Labor Council. At that time she not only represented workers on all jobs, but also within her own local, the Retail Clerks and UFCW Local One!! I always enjoyed working with Mary Ann. When Gov. Mario Cuomo appointed her to become the Assistant Labor Commissioner in Rochester he could not have made a better choice. Mary Ann, in that position, worked hard to make sure that organized labor and its members were adequately represented by the State of NY, but also developed a special working relationship with the business community. Her advocacy work in fighting for women rights, was enormously recognized by all around the world. I am so happy to have had the opportunity to have worked with Mary Ann during those wonderful and challenging years.
Mary Ann, we will miss you! I will miss you! My sincere condolences to your family.

I was saddened to see Mary Ann's obituary in the Sunday's paper. Cousin Mary Ann was such a vibrant, caring soul. One could always count on her presence when someone in the extended family passed on. May her memory live on to all who knew her.

Dear Charles and family,
I am saddened to hear of your mother's passing. When I came to Rochester in the mid-1970s, hoping to build a practice representing labor unions, Mary Ann would always take the time to provide advice. She was more than a labor leader, she was the voice and the soul of the Rochester labor movement. As Commissioner of Labor her decisions demonstrated an understanding of workers too rarely seen in government agencies.
She will be missed.

I am a labor lawyer who had the opportunity to interact with Mary Ann for a number of years, especially when she was working for the New York State Department of Labor. She was fair, honest and well respected.
I was proud to know her and I was proud of the great work that she did for workers and others in our community.
May she Rest in Peace.
