Giedre Logminaite

Born on June 20, 1964, in Vilnius, Lithuania, having lived all her adult life in Rochester, New York, Giedre passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022. She was predeceased by her father, Dr. Vytautas Logminas, Vilnius, Lithuania. Mourning her untimely passage are her beloved children Gabija Jankauskis (12) and Mantas Jankauskis (15), their father, Valdas Jankauskis; her mother Nijole Logminiene, brother Darius Logminas, sister-in-law Inga Logminiene, nephews Žygimantas, Šarunas, and Gediminas, as well as an extended family in Lithuania; and her friend, sister, mother, aunt – Janina Birute Litvinas.

Giedre was a biologist, artist, and historian who touched everyone by her gentleness, kindness, generosity, friendship, and loyalty. Her life was dedicated to her children. She had an ethnologist's knowledge and love of her Lithuanian heritage which was left as a gift to her children, her students, and all who loved and encountered her.

Angels, who were next to her every single day of her final journey, guarding her and loving her, include: Eugenija Bulsys, Rasa Clair, Asta Grant, Birute Litvinas, Ieva Malašauskas, Laima Norvaišiene, Gražina Obalis, Daiva Oluic, and Leslie Weber.

Giedre's Memorial and Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 16th at 11am at Our Lady of Lourdes, 150 Varinna Drive, Rochester, New York 14618.
