This is probably not an appropriate place to reach out--I am sorry for your loss--but in trying to research my birth father, I have found sufficient information to believe we are related, that John Horton Jr.'s father was also my father. While that doesn't say much about our shared parent, it is quite a realization to learn that I may have half-brothers and half-sisters. I have attached a photo of John Horton Sr. (known to me as John Brian Lindsay) with me and my mother in 1949. I am not looking for anything, except to fill in some gaps in my story. If you, or your children, are at all interested in getting in touch, my email address is gaymonteverde@icloud.com. I would welcome hearing from you.

First, Tillie and i extend our sincere condolences to the Horton family. Secondly, we want to express our sadness that we are unable to physically be with them to personally offer these condolences. Our hearts are broken, a big part of our life has left us.
Tillie knew John before I did. She was in grammar school at the time. I met him in 1952, didn't know at the time that my life was about to make a 180 degree turn.
To simply summarize, he guided me and put me on a new path to follow. He made it possible for a kid who quit the 10th grade to eventually finish college and better himself.
Our friendship was special and could never be duplicated. In 70 years, it never wavered. Not only do Tillie and I love him, my family feels the same.
I want everyone to know he will never leave me. John has been and will always will be part of me.

I had the pleasure and privilege of working with John at his tax business for two years. He was one of the most unique individuals I have ever known. We shared many common interests and philosophies. He gave me an opportunity to challenge myself and I am a better person because of his insight. I shall miss his wisdom and presence.
My heartfelt sympathy to the Horton family. I thank God John and I traveled the same path if only for a short time.

John was a dean at Franklin High School. He was fair and worked well with my students which I deeply appreciated. He always said either "Be well" or "Be safe". He was often the only one there late in the day. He made the world a better place. Laurie Ditzel
