Suzanne Jackson

Obituary of Suzanne M. Jackson

Mendon: Passed away peacefully in her home on October 18, 2022. Sue was born on September 15, 1964 to Hazel and Gene Habeck, Sr. in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. She grew up in Fairport NY, where she met many lifelong friends, several of whom she remained in touch with throughout the years. She graduated from Fairport High School in 1982 and continued her education with a degree in accounting from SUNY Brockport in 1990. Sue went on to work in various roles/capacities throughout her career.

Sue had an undeniable passion and love for animals, owning countless and rescuing hundreds more. She regularly drove for the rescue transport group East Coast Transport; a group of dedicated men and women who saved dogs and cats from southern states, driving them to numerous rescues, foster families, and forever homes.

It wasn't just cats and dogs that filled Sue's life with joy, it was her flock of beloved chickens, numerous rabbits and, of course, her horses. Sue's dream was to someday bring her horses home with her, and in 2017 she made this dream reality. Often spending more time in the barn with them than her own house, it was clear where her "happy place was".

Sue was predeceased by her mother, Hazel; father, Gene, and older brother, Jeff. She is survived by her loving daughters, Bailey and Hannah; nephew, Andrew Habeck; twin sister, Pam Habeck, who she loved and cared for deeply; brothers, Paul Habeck (Diane), Steve Habeck, Gene Habeck Jr. (Chris) and Bruce Habeck (Mary-Pat); nieces, Angie, Phoebe, Stevie-Lynn, Talia, and Holly, and nephews Ed and Gene.

Her family will receive friends Saturday, November 19, 12:00pm - 2:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Highway So.). Where her Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to caseytotherescue.com/donate.
