My maternal cousin, Steve—a great guy! I did not say was because the kind of presence, love of family, loyalty, kindness and pure love that IS Steve will never leave us. He is a treasure. The oldest of my cousins, he was always so nice, inclusive and engaging. When I would be over at their house when we were young , he and Dick (whom I adore as well), let me tag along to Pontillo’s or wherever, and I always felt so happy to be included. Steve had our Grandma Putnam’s kind heart and looked a bit like her as well. When he met the love of his life, Carla, we were so happy for them. I remember their wedding, and it was surreal to see one of us ready for marriage. I remember in their first apartment, they had two lawn chairs in the living room. They were so very in love and happy. When Brian and Kristin came along, they were complete. I believe that in God’s plan that love never ends, and we are never apart—only to be reunited when we go home to be with the Lord. I cannot attend the celebration of his life as I am hospital bed bound at home very ill; however, all of the qualities that are Steve will warm every one of us lucky enough to share life’s journey with him. Rest in peace, my beloved cousin, knowing we all will meet again. Carla and Kristin, you share a family love some never get to have. May God hold you in His loving arms knowing that Steve and Brian are in perfect peace and knowing that they are never away. They are with God. God bless you all. ♥️, Suzie
