Magda was born on March 25, 1938 in Mocsa, Hungary. She emigrated to the United States in the early 1960’s, where she eventually settled in Rochester, NY to call her home. She retired from St. Ann’s Home as a nurse’s aide, where she worked for 15 years. Magdolna loved to cook, and entertain for family and friends. She always made sure that there was enough food for everyone but at the same she cooked enough food to feed a small army. Her specialties ranged from various traditional Hungarian dishes like, Chicken Paprikash, Stuffed Cabbage, and Hungarian Goulash to American dishes such as, Chicken Noodle Soup, Fried Chicken, and American Goulash.

In her free time, Magda enjoyed going to the casino and playing the slot machines, word search puzzles, watching The Love Boat, Gilligan’s Island, and Curious George, but she always cherished the time she spent with her family both home and abroad. Magda loved angels and she was an avid collector. She had a smile that would warm people’s hearts and made them feel welcomed. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, especially her family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the MICU staff at Erie County Medical Center who cared for our mother during her final moments.
