Obituary of Charles P. O'Brien
O'Brien, Charles P. of Irondequoit, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. Charley was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Christina (Young) O’Brien. Siblings, William (Mary Ellen) O’Brien, Alice O’Brien, and James (Anita) O’Brien. Charley is survived by dear friends, Mark (Terry) D. Slocum and Kim (Bob) Mattle. Sister-in-laws, Anita O'Brien, Mary Ellen O’Brien and several nieces and nephews.
Charley was born in Utica, NY on October 11, 1938. He proudly served his country in the US Navy. Charley was a retired Parts Clerk for Eastman Kodak with 25 years of dedicated service. In his free time, Charley loved spending time with his cat Toby and he always cherished the time he spent with his dear friends.
Charley was deeply religious and said his prayers and recited the Rosary daily. He was devoted to the Blessed Mother Mary and was blessed to have passed away on the Feast of the Assumption.
Friends are invited to celebrate Charley’s life on Saturday, August 19, 2023 10 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church for his funeral mass. Interment and military honors to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed for a mass card in Charley’s memory at St. Thomas the Apostle Church.
