Obituary of Tatyana Slizhuk

Tatyana Slizhuk, age 68, passed away on September 9, 2023, in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine. She was born on September 7, 1955. Tatyana is survived by her Husband Ivan, Daughters Lily and Roma, their husbands Ivan and Vincent, and her 4 grandchildren Dmitriy, Andrey, Vincent and Viana.

Tatyana was married to Ivan Slizhuk for 48 years. The two were each other's lifelong companions and friends. They were blessed with two daughters, Lily and Roma. Tatyana cared so deeply for her family and was a friend to anyone who she came across. Her bright smile and infectious personality captured the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her. Tatyana was also a proud Ukrainian and dedicated her life to spreading her culture and love for music. Many times, she could be found singing and playing an instrument along to classical Ukrainian music with her family and friends. Her strong and beautiful voice always carried the perfect notes, and her voice will be heard anytime the family comes together. She fostered this passion in her children and grandchildren, who carry on her musical legacy to this day.

Tatyana always had a camera or video recorder in her hand, ready to be her family's biggest fan at any given moment. Because of that, her family has countless videos and photos that encapsulate their childhoods and most special occasions. The bond with her family was very strong and there will always be a special place in their hearts for her that will never fade away.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 20th from 4-7pm, (Panachyda 6:30pm) at the Harris Funeral Home located on 570 Kings Hwy S, Rochester, NY 14617. Tatyana's Divine Liturgy will be held Thursday. September 21st at 10am at St Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church located on 940 Ridge Rd, Rochester, NY 14621. Burial will follow the funeral at Oakwood Cemetery located on 1975 Baird Rd, Penfield, NY 14526.
