I am so sorry to hear the news, I worked with Orest for about 3 years and he was such a wonderful man. We talked a lot on my Polish roots and his Ukrainian roots. When my father passed he was there for me. I hope him and my father (who worked 10+ years with him) are up there having a grand time together.

Orest entered my life as a Computer Technician for the Mechanical Engineering Technology Dept. in the mid 1980s. He provided First Class support for us in All respects...Beyond this, Orest & I became life long friends...Orest's knowledge on almost any topic was amazing and truly exceptional...I have treasured our countless conversations and will deeply miss them...I Raise the Cosmic Chalise High to him...He was & is the Best!! Orest was such a welcoming co-worker when I started at DHR a few years ago. He was extremely kind and friendly and always checked in to make sure I was learning the ropes and everything was going smoothly. He even gave me some "Welcome to Rochester" stickers which I still have. He was a very friendly face and he will be dearly missed.

Orest and I spent many hours together getting my laptop up to par while working at the NYSDOL. He had the best stories of his childhood and family growing up in the city of Rochester and in the Ukrainian community. We also both shared the love of bowling, and he inspired me to get back at it. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends, he will surely be missed.

I am very sorry for your loss. I worked with Orest at the Division of Human Rights. I remember on my first few days he always talked to me and made me feel so welcome and we found out that we are both Ukrainian. He was very friendly to everyone. We went to lunch together often before COVID and he always made me laugh. We just found out that he passed. I will miss him but have some nice memories. My deepest condolences to the family. I am very sorry to hear of Orests sudden passing. I had the pleasure of working with him at the Department of Labor. He was a kind man who was especially proud of his Ukrainians ancestry. We shared a love of golabki!
