Rochester: Monday, November 27, 2023 at age 98. Eleanor is survived by her beloved children, Samuel (Carol) Alessi, Patricia Alessi (William Kleitz), Joni Sassone (John Bay), Dena (Daniel) Gendreau; beloved grandchildren Nikki Broyard, Peter Alessi, Michael Stubbs, Gena Coe, Jinelle Viana, Samantha Scantlin, William Gendreau; great-grandchildren Olivia Broyard, Isabella Alessi, Nicholas Broyard, Willa Coe, Nathan Stubbs, Ruby Coe, James Stubbs, Calvin Viana; nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and staff at the St. John's Home, Elise, Tiffany, Bertha, Dezzerey.

Beautiful, loving, giving, modest and spunky, Eleanor graduated from East High School in Rochester, won a perfect penmanship handwriting award and later worked at the school as Assistant to the Dean. People gravitated to Eleanor, not only because she was easy to talk to, welcoming and the ultimate hostess, but because of her feisty personality. She was an avid reader, coached girls baseball and loved to travel. Most of all, she was a nurturer and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She will be dearly missed.

Her family will receive friends Thursday, November 30, 4:00 - 6:00 pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Highway So.). Friends are invited to join the family Friday, December 1, 10:00 am at St. Kateri At Christ The King Church for her funeral mass. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Alzheimers Assoc., 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620.
