Our condolences on the loss of this iconic gem! My husband and I met at Marge's back in 1989 and are celebrating our 31st anniversary this month. We loved going back to Marge's; yet never often enough. ALWAYS loved getting brutally proofed by Fran even though we were well over age...She made me feel so young! Loved seeing her on the firetruck(s) in the parades, as it made us proud to say she touched our lives in such a big way. She will be remembered well and will always be a part of our story.

Dear Francine,
I help manage the Eastridge Alumni Facebook Page on FB. When we lose one of our extended Lancer family it is customary to celebrate their life. I would like to share with you what was posted in your mom's honor.
"It is always difficult to share the news of one of our Lancer Family who has passed. I often say there is an Eastridge connection. Many of you may not know that the legendary, Frances Anderson Beth, is from the EHS Class of 1961. She would proudly say, "I am the third person ever to graduate from Eastridge." It was a brand new building then.
The loss of Fran is felt far and wide. Please lift up Francine, all of her family, friends, and community in the healing light as they mourn their profound loss. May all find comfort in their now even more treasured memories. (Please click on the obituary and share your memories there. It will mean so much to the family.)
I came across this reflection on life. Perfect advice for the New Year. As I read it I thought the person who wrote it must have visited Marge's and met Fran.
"LIVE every day to it's fullest. LOVE truly and deeply and fiercely. LAUGH with real abandon. SING the song of your heart. DANCE because you can't keep it in. DREAM as if all things are possible. PLAY for the love of the game. GIVE because you have plenty. SMILE with your lips and your eyes."
Can't you clearly picture an angel decked out in red, white, & blue, checking IDs at her new Sea Breeze TIKI Bar? No kicking sand!
Rest in paradise with Ron, Fran. "Bubbles up!"

Where do I begin ? So many memories with Fran. We knew when we moved in across the street from Fran that we were going to be FRIENDS . Fran had sass, a unique style and a DYNAMIC smile! We fought neighbors together, survived the tragedy of Christmas Eve 2012 and put down a shit ton of sandbags after the high waters of 2017.
The good times were outstanding . How many parties on that captains outlook !?! I remember, standing at her house, looking out and commenting on her gorgeous view of Irondequoit bay and she told me “you can pretend you’re anywhere“. Well, we are glad that we grew up here and had the opportunity to meet Fran. While many people associate Fran with the business, it’s more than that. She was the MATRIARCH of a family. A family of friends who are always happy to see you and would do anything to help if needed. We laughed together , partied together and grieved together many friends that went before her. Rest in peace my friend, until we meet again. I can’t help but smile when I picture you riding on your water bike with your flamingo sunglasses, and a flower in your hair. Love you always, Dianne and Nick

So sorry to hear of the passing of Fran Beth. I always enjoyed her bubbly personality and her complete joy of life. It's been awhile since I've been to Marge's but I will in the future to see Fran's beloved daughter, Francine. I feel Fran regarded Francine as her most beautiful accomplishment and they certainly teamed up to carry on the family tradition passed on from Marge and her beloved husband Ron.
I first stopped in to Marge's when I lived on Lake Road in Webster. My friends and I would walk from 70 Lake Road on the railroad tracks across the Irondequiot Bay Outlet to Marge's and have a great time! Walking back on the railroad tracks across the bay carefully stepping on the was both a challenge and an adventure! It was worth it to see Ron behind the bar and Fran at his side. I reconnected in the 80's when I had my boat and we cruised up to Sodus Bay and back. Great memories of a great family. My thoughts are with Francine and the family and you can take comfort in all the great memories created to carry you through the times ahead.

I really loved Fran and admired her for her toughness and grit as well as her kindness and friendliness. It was enjoyable to come to Marge's mostly because of Fran and also for the fun atmosphere she created at the place. Her sense of humor was wonderful and her strength was impressive. I was sorry that she had health problems in her last couple of years, and she wasn't always able to enjoy herself or feel well physically, but she kept on going regardless. I will really miss her.

To Honor Frannie is to go back to 1986...Francine, Frannie and Ron welcomed me into the fold called "Marges."
It is said that with every successful man is a strong woman...he was blessed with three; Marge, Frannie and Francine.
Frannie and Francine took the reins when it was time and grew their business into what it is today....add Marty to the mix and it is a place like NO other. Again, home to many.
Enjoy your eternal happy hour with your beloved Ronnie...you will be missed but never forgotten.
Always, your Joanneeee

Fran, your uniqueness transcended into a space you shared with us all. A space where new friends met, memories were made and laughs could be heard up and down the Lake Ontario coast. I will be forever grateful to have shared in that space for all these years and will think of you each and every time I am there.

Growing up in Webster as a young girl with Francine, Fran was always so welcoming in her home. Sleepovers or visits at that young age, before life took me out of town for many years, it was ALWAYS so evident that Francine was her complete pride & joy, and of course, Mr. Beth. Once I returned to town as an adult and reconnected with Francine after so many years, Marge’s Tavern became our “tropical” entertainment spot. It was like coming home every time. Francine carries Ron’s spirit & legacy and makes it feel like home, but it was the constant presence of Fran…the heart of the place that would welcome us, sit right inside the door and pick up where we had last left off with her. I imagine her sitting right inside Heaven’s pearly gates just waiting to welcome us all home one day. Without a doubt, Francine will hold down the fort and continue carrying the light and legacy of Marge’s that always made Fran and Ron so proud. We’ll always love and miss you, Fran. ❤️

So many playful memories to list. But one of Fran's stronger traits was how she loved her customers and she'd treat 99 % as a friends and welcome back with open arms and a POP to start your evening. Her love for our country was unwavering and only St Patti's Day ran a very close second. Francine I'm truly sorry for your loss and it's nice you have Marty to have your back I'm at a loss for more words But know I feel as many do an emptiness from afar Love You Frannie Cya on the flip side Ron Mavity
