Obituary of John Gilbert Myles Jr.

John Gilbert Myles was born to Deloid and John Gilbert Myles Sr. in Newark, NJ on March 12, 1967.

He attended the Newark Public School System and was employed at the Newark City Department of Sanitation and various Furniture Delivery Establishments.

John was a beautiful soul with a loving and caring heart. He would do anything for you within his power. He was also skilled with talents in many areas, drumming, rapping, hiking, cards, and creating comical jingles that kept people laughing. Many revered him as a true comedian.

He changed residence and moved to Rochester, NY in 2007 where he established other friends/family who have expressed how dear he was to them. Including his significant  life partner Lisa Corter whom he cherished deeply and a special friend Jerry and his family.

John sadly and briefly departed this life on January 23, 2024.

John was preceded in death by his Father John Gilbert Myles Sr., Sisters Linda and Rita, “Special” Cousin Anthony, and Nephew Derrick. He leaves behind to cherish his spirit and memories his Life Partner Lisa Corter his Mother Deloid, “Special” Aunt Edith Lewis, Sister Annette, Sister Adrene,  Sister Lavern, Brother Leshon, Nephews Revon, Tajaun, Markece, Calvin, Robert and Dwayne, Niece’s Melinda and Tyra , cousins, and a host of family, friends and loved ones.
