Audrey J Velepec

Irondequoit: Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the age of 94. Predeceased by her brother, William III and her husband of 70 years Hubert. She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey (Nina) Velepec and Scott (Valerie) Velepec; grandchildren, Taylor, Bayleigh and Braeden Velepec, Brianna (David) Forbes, and Alexander Velepec; and great grandson, Jaxson Forbes.

A graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Audrey went to Valparaiso University to pursue a degree in Music Education. After graduation she married Hubert and moved to Rochester, NY where she taught music at the Eastman School of Music. An avid pianist, and later a harpist, Audrey enjoyed teaching students and playing the piano and organ at Otter Lake Community church during the summer.

A life-long Lutheran, she was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. She had a long tenure as a member of Rochester Women of Rotary and was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow. She was an active board member and volunteer at Rotary Sunshine Camp. Audrey co-authored The Sunshine Camp Story, A History of Rochester Rotary’s Sunshine Camp. She also wrote and gave presentations to garden clubs on Plants in the Bible.

Audrey’s Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 13th 10am at Faith Lutheran Church, 2576 Browncroft Blvd, Rochester, NY 14625. Memorials may be directed to Rochester Rotary Charitable Trust, 180 Linden Oaks #200, Rochester, NY 14625, or Faith Lutheran Church.
