Obituary of Mary Lou Runciman

 Monday, February 12, 2024 at the age of 91. Predeceased by her husband Bill; son, Bill Jr; brother, Martin Zell; brother-in-law, Joseph Hogarth and life long friend Ray Melusky. Mary Lou is survived by her daughter, Valerie (Ed) Lanyi; son, George(Andrea)Runciman; daughter-in-law Jane Runciman; sister, Barbara Hogarth; grandchildren, Wyatt(Jennie) Runciman; Clark(Savannah)Runciman, Mitchell, Kristen(Fiancee Colby) and Jacob Lanyi, Jackson and Marley Runciman; great granddaughters, Isla, Enid and Chloe; along with several nieces and nephews. Her family always brought a quick smile to her face and much love to her heart.

Mary Lou was born to Ellen and Frank Zielasko in Minersville, PA. She married her high school sweetheart, Bill in 1953 and they shared 60 years together. After moving to Rochester and raising her three children, Mary Lou began a career at the University of Rochester School of Medicine, where she retired as the Registrar. She was happy to call her beach neighborhood in Irondequoit home in her later years, loved being with family above all else, was a huge Buffalo Bills fan and kept her faith in God strong until the very end.

Out of respect for Mary Lou's wishes, all services will be held in private.
