Lorraine Carpenter

Obituary of Lorraine T. Carpenter

Lorraine Theresa Carpenter, 66, of Rochester, NY, passed away Friday, May 10, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones at Mount Carmel House in Hilton, NY.

Predeceased by her parents Carl and Joan Bleier, Lorraine was born on July 25, 1957, the third of four children. Often the prankster of the group, her mischievous demeanor is something she carried with her til her last day.

Raised with her three siblings in Rochester, she loved playing outdoors; as an adult she moved to Canadice, and she went on to open her own facility, Pheasant Hollow Gun Dogs & Hunting Club. She was a true trailblazer, breaking down barriers in a male dominated field. She worked tirelessly throughout her career to expand the club and had clients from all over the country who sent their dogs to Pheasant Hollow to be trained by her. Lorraine helped hundreds of dogs (and their owners!) through her 30+ years of training and made a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Ever the outdoor enthusiast. Lorraine’s last few earthly months consisted of lots of time outside enjoying the fresh air. Lorraine loved nature and wanted to be outside in all seasons. She loved to go for long walks by Charlotte Pier and was happy to dip her toes in the water any chance she got.

The rock of the family, Lorraine adored her granddaughters and her great-nieces, loving nothing more than spoiling them. She will be missed by her children, Sarah Elizabeth and David Gregory (Tarele), her siblings Carl Bleier, Kathleen Pyles (Gary), & Cynthia Bleier, and her nieces, Brittany & Ashley Bleier.

Nothing made Lorraine happier than sitting around a campfire, talking and laughing late into the night. In this time of grief, let us remember Lorraine for the infectious laughter and playful, sarcastic sense of humor that lit up our lives. May her spirit live on in the memories we hold dear, and may her legacy inspire us to embrace life with the same zest that defined her remarkable journey.

Friends are invited to join the family to celebrate Lorraine’s life on Saturday, May 25th, 2024 at the Paul W. Harris Funeral Home. Visiting hours will take place 1:00pm - 3:00pm, followed by a memorial at 3pm. A continuation of the celebration will follow.
