Obituary of Jeanne C. Broikou

Beloved Mother and Grandmother, Jeanne C. Broikou (Siesto)

Webster: Monday, June 10, 2024 at the age of 95. Pre-deceased by her husband, Peter A. Broikou Sr.; she is survived by her children, Patricia (Joe) Locke, Michael Broikou, Kathleen Broikou, and Peter (Toni) Broikou; grandsons Victor Locke and Misha Broikou; granddaughters Vienne and Martine Broikou; and many nieces and nephews.

Jeanne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She was at her happiest having a house full of family and friends, eating, drinking, laughing and enjoying each others' company. She loved cheering for her beloved NY Yankees, listening to Pavarotti and Frank Sinatra, hosting her famous Memorial Day and Christmas gatherings, and making the family's favorite Italian and Greek recipes for Sunday dinners and holidays. She was the ultimate Mom — not just for her immediate family, but for her nieces, nephews, and family friends who could always count on a warm welcome and a good meal at "Mrs. B's."

Jeanne started working at the age of 15 at the Goodie Shoppe on Clifford Ave., where she met her future husband, Peter, to whom she was married for 70 years. She continued to work at the shop into her 90s, helping her son, Michael, who took over the business from his grandfather. But her favorite job was being the center of the family, making sure everyone was safe, happy, and well cared for. She will be forever loved and missed by everyone who knew her.

Calling Hours will be held Tuesday, June 18, 5-7pm at Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation (962 East Ave), where her Funeral Service will follow at 7pm. Entombment at White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), or the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
