As a high school friend of Jennifer's, I spent many hot days by your pool and always felt welcome in your home. Our sons Ian and Luke loved going to school at Colebrook on the days your father was coming to talk of his life experiences as a troop leader and WWII veteran. They especially liked his fried fiddle-head fern recipe. He was generous with his time and he inspired many students to think creatively.ecologically and globally. What a beautiful legacy to give to a young generation. Our sincere sympathy to all of you during this difficult time. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Chris,Dave,Ian and Luke Perry

Mr Pomeroy made an impact on my life as my scoutmaster. I will never forget the many summers we spent at Camp Massawepie in the Adirondacks. He was a natural leader with a gentle, caring spirit. May the peace of God be with you during this time. Pastor Ken Tesch, Creekside Chapel, Allegany, NY

Besides my parents, Fred Pomeroy was the strongest influence in my life during the years I was a member of Troop 154 and also as I became an adult. I attained the rank of Eagle Scout and much of what I am today is because of Fred Pomeroy's example and guidance during the formative years of my life.

Mr Pomeroy is one of the greatest people I have had the privilege of knowing. His leadership, wit and caring made a positive impact on hundreds of scouts and their families. I'll always remember one of his frequent quotes - "leave the place you are in, better than how you found it." Mission accomplished Mr Pomeroy, rest in peace.
Mrs Pomeroy, John, Jim and family, my prayers are with you.

My deepest sympathy to you all. I echo the comments posted here by Tom and Ken, two of our Troop 154 Alumni. Scouting was an important part of my youth and I try to live by those ideals installed in me by your father. Know that your father is at peace and may your faith give you strength.

I met Fred while my son was in Troop 154. He was always a role model for the boys and did more for them than they realized at the time. He is sorely missed. God Bless you all now and in the future.

I want to send our extreme condolences to Ann, David, and the entire extended Pomeroy family. Fred will be deeply missed by everyone who has known him, but never forgotten. The countless memories of this good man will be with all of us forever. Fred always seemed to lead by example and this apparently rubbed off on those who worked with him and the members of his family. Fred's life is indeed a life worth celebrating as he did live a very good life.

To the entire Pomeroy family,
I am saddened to hear the news of Mr. Pomeroy's passing. He was truly a great man, an inspiration, and "made every place he was in better". I know he made me a better person; I learned some of my biggest life lessons because of his wisdom, guidance, and caring. He made it so that most lessons were "text book" and easily comprehensible; but he also made me (and all the boys in our huge troop over the many years) dig deep and struggle to know ourselves and what was right. These were blessings that I will always grateful to have received.
I had the opportunity to visit and share time with Mr. Pomeroy a couple of years ago when I was in Irondequoit to spend time with my Dad, who was living & struggling with Lou Gehrig's Disease. Although over 30 years had passed since I last saw Mr. Pomeroy, I was struck by how it felt so familiar and comfortable. With Fred's passing, it feels like losing my 2nd father. His impact was tremendous; he was a wonderful man and will always remain in my heart.

Mr. Pomeroy was an amazing teacher. He volunteered in my classroom at Colebrook School for 9 years. He brought science alive for my kids. He touched the hearts of many Colebrook families. My prayers are with his family.

I earned my Eagle Scout while a member of Troop 154 under Mr. Pomeroy's leadership. I also say him taking walks around Irondequoit. It always made me happy to see him. I still carry my scouting values with me today!

To the Pomeroy family, You have my sincerest condolences on Mr. Pomeroy's passing. He was an outstanding example to all of service and dedication, especially to those of us lucky enough to be in Troop 154. One of my fondest memories of Mr. Pomeroy is seeing him stride purposefully by my house on Cambria Road on his way to Kodak. To be honest, I thought he was crazy at the time to walk "all that way" to work. But now, all these years later, I find myself walking a couple of miles several days a week to get to work. I look at it as one of the many ways I carry a little of Fred Pomeroy with me.

My condolences to the family and all grieving. My memory of Mr. Pomeroy is one of kindness and firmness. From my first campout at Demolay (some boys had a behavior problem) I knew I was being led by somebody with conviction. In retrospect, I see his wisdom and love.

Mr. Pomeroy is one of greats! His leadership and drive helped push me towards my Eagle Scout award. I think in the end, I did for him; not wanting to risk disappointment in his eyes. A truly great man. I use many of the values he instilled upon me as a boy scout to this day as an Army officer. I will miss him!
