Obituary of Frances I. Lurz
Frances Ingersoll Lurz (Fran) passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her immediate family.
Fran is survived by her loving husband Bob; and beloved children Frank (Janet) Lurz, Anne Reber, Mary Lurz, and John Lurz.
Fran was known affectionately as “Beeka” to her precious grandchildren, Allison, Bryan and Meaghan Lurz (Anders) and Jack and Chloe Reber.
She is survived by her loving sister, Betty (Richard) Milspaw, plus brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Fran had been a secretary at Seneca Methodist and United Church of Christ. She enjoyed swimming, volunteering, and socializing with friends at The Maplewood “Y”, where she loved reading to groups of children. She enjoyed writing classes where she wrote and published a book about her life “Oh What a Ride – 80 Years and Still Pedaling”. We all will miss her kindness and sense of humor.
A celebration of Fran’s life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, from 1:00-4:00 PM. at the Family Center at The Harris Funeral Home, 560 King’s Highway Rochester, NY 14617 ( located behind the funeral home). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: The Sunset House, 3746 St. Paul Blvd, Rochester, NY 14617, Lifespan Lilli Café at The Maplewood YMCA or Friends of the Irondequoit Library, 1290 Titus Ave, Rochester, NY 14617.
A special tribute to Fran per her wishes would be to “Do something nice for someone else today”.
