Obituary of Catherine B. Nasser

Catherne B. Nasser, beloved mother, aunt and sister-in-law, age 94, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home in Laguna Niguel on December 5th.

She taught Third and Fifth grades at St. Stanislaus School throughout the 1960s then worked within the Monroe County Department of Health finishing her career teaching preschool at St. Josaphat’s.

Catherine was predeceased by her husband of 42 years James S. Nasser, her parents, in-laws, sisters (in-law) and brothers (in-law) along with various nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her son, Marc (Cheryl) of Laguna Niguel, CA, Anthony James / A.J., of Las Vegas, NV, nephews Fr. William Young, Rio Rancho, NM, Thomas James Summers, Charleston, W.VA, Stephen Begandy and Robert Begandy, Rochester, NY, nieces Kathryn Betters, Las Vegas, NV, Roxanne Young, Rochester, NY, Michele Begandy, Minneapolis, MN, Sandra Rockwell, Peru, Lori Begandy, Rochester, NY, Gabrielle Summers, McClean, VA, her beloved sister-in-law, Delores Summers of McClean, VA her best friend Betsy Clark of Rochester, NY and Maile her cherished dog.

Catherine graduated from Marymount HS, Los Angeles, CA and Nazareth College, Rochester, NY. She loved flowers and classic movies. She was a wonderful homemaker but most of all she was an exceptional mother, wife, aunt and sister. Catherine never turned her back on anyone in need and was available to all who needed someone to talk to.

Catherine lived with Marc and Cheryl in Hawaii for ten years where she experienced many adventures throughout the Hawaiian Islands, establishing life-long friendships before relocating to Southern California in 2023.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, December 16th at 10am at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church followed by internment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers Catherine had asked that donations be made to Autism Up. Donations may be made to www.autismup.org dedicated to the memory of Catherine Nasser.
