Obituary of Richard A. Fluegel
Richard Anthony Fluegel, 60, of Rochester, NY passed on December 8, 2024. Richard was born on March 24, 1964. Son of the late Joseph and Josephine Fluegel of Wilkes-Barre, PA. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Helen George, Joseph J. Fluegel and Walter and Mary Fluegel Weiss.
He was a graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School. He was previously employed by Frontier Communications and was employed by BAM of NY prior to his death.
In his youth, he was an avid bowler and loved to skate. He loved music, fixing cars and most recently fund raising by riding his motorcycle with the American Legion Riders Post 468. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 468 in Greece, NY. He was also a member of the American Poolplayers Association (APA). Rich loved meeting new people. If you knew him, you would become friends for life.
He is survived by his children, Richard Fluegel Jr. and Jacob Fluegel. Also survived by his siblings, Mary Jo Fluegel, Joseph J. Fluegel (Nance), Patricia Oldziejewski (Mark), Leah Olex, Kathleen Fluegel, as well as nieces and nephews, Amanda Stiles (Dave), Carissa Becker, Logan Fluegel, Mark Oldziejewski, Alicia Oldziejewski, Jerry Poepperling Jr., James Poepperling and many great nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Sunday, December 22nd, 11 am to 12:30 pm at Paul W. Harris Funeral Home, 570 Kings Highway South, Rochester, NY. Burial will be in Wilkes-Barre, PA on Friday, December 27th with a mass at 10:00 am at St. Anthony’s Church, 311 Park Avenue and burial following at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1594 S. Main St., Wilkes Barre, PA.
