My heartfelt condolences go out to the Welch Family, especially Jerry. You are in my thoughts. Joan was always someone I admired. Her kind and thoughtful work advocating for people in recovery was inspiring. I am so honored to have been lucky enough to know her. She made the world a better place.

I fondly remember Joan Hotchkiss Welch as a regular and enjoyable and lively presence in the life of the Irondequoit Maloney family from my early days due to her being a classmate of sister Dean. She and Jerry were welcome at many family gatherings and events. I will miss her. Sean P. Maloney
