Obituary of Kathryn Ann Sexton

Sexton, Kathryn Ann "Cappy" Rochester: Died peacefully, surrounded by family, on Monday December 20 at the age of 79. Her parents Thelma (Fishbaugh) and Waldner Sexton predeceased her. Cappy is survived by her sister Marilyn (Sexton) Weiss, brother-in-law John Weiss, and niece Susan Weiss, aunt, Shirley (Fishbaugh) VanDenBergh, cousins, Nancy VanDenBergh, Rob and Toni VanDenBergh, Rev. James and Ros Fishbaugh, Mary (Fishbaugh) Rogan, many second cousins, extended family, and dearest friend Corky Mee. Cappy graduated from East High School, and became the proprietor of Sexton's Hot Dog Stand, a landmark at Charlotte Beach for decades. She was known for her love of music and singing and shared that with us as a performer at Mr. Mike's Viking and other local venues during the 70's and 80's. She also released a record during that time. Cappy had a true gift of bringing smiles and laughter to everyone she met. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her. Cappy's family would especially like to thank Dr. Borbas, Dr. Choudhory, Laura Scheuermann, Maria Marseglia and the team of talented nurses, techs and aides at Unity Out-Patient Dialysis and Unity Hospital for their excellent care and kindness over the years. A special thanks to neighbors Debbie, Sandy and Bill for their love and support. All who wish to remember Cappy may join her family Wednesday 2-4, 6-8pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy. South). A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home Thursday 10:00am. Interment will be held in private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society at LollyPop Farm, 99 Victor Rd., Fairport, NY 14450.
