Mrs. Burns was my mentor while I taught at Greece Olympia, and we have remained friends over the years. We enjoyed annual luncheons with some of our colleagues, and Mrs. Burns was always lively and filled with stories of her teaching days. Her interest in literature and education never waned.
I am in Florida until May, and will be unable to attend the graveside service, but will be there in spirit. I will miss Mrs. Burns, and always remember her fondly.

Mrs. Burns was one of the finest teachers I ever had. I still have a deep love and regard for good literature, thanks in large measure to her influence.

Dear family and friends of Mrs. Burns, I know these are only words, like humble little sparrows. But I wish to add some unspoken words like soaring eagles to honor one of the most wonderful, intelligent and curious women I have met! Mrs. Burns, you touched our souls and helped us fly...thank you.
