Rochester. Suddenly Friday February 6, 2009 at the age of 47. Pre-deceased by father, Carlos L. Hernandez, father-in-law Bernard Gefell, mother-in-law, A. Dorothy Gefell, brothers-in-law, Tom & Donald Gefell and sister-in-law, Lydia Gefell. Maria is survived by her childhood sweetheart and husband Dan Gefell, children, Amy (Sean Parmalee), Kristina and Danny Gefell, mother, Emerita Hernandez, sisters, Ana Maria(Ruben Sr.) Reyes and Mildred(Jim) Logan, brothers, Andre(Lucy), Esmeraldo "Junior", Johnny(Debbie), Carlos(Lisa) and James(Doris) Hernandez, sisters-in-law, Margaret(Kenny) Gleichauf, Ginny(Addison) Steven and Cathy(John) Opaczewski, brothers-in-law, Michael and Richard(Donna) Gefell, 20 loving nieces and nephews who she loved like her own children, and her 2 kitties, Kobe and Daisy.
Her family will receive friends Monday 7-9 pm at the funeral home. Friends are invited to meet the family Tuesday 10:00am at St. Andrews Church for her funeral mass. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
