Hafner, RN, Virginia E. Irondequoit: Entered into rest peacefully Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at the age of 83. Predeceased by her parents, Philip and Elizabeth Hafner, sister, Marie Aubel, brother, Thomas Hafner and brother-in-law, Francis Peterson. Virginia is survived by her brothers, Frederick (Jacqueline) Hafner and Robert (Carolyn) Hafner, sister, Nancy Peterson, sister-in-law, Beverly Hafner, many loving nieces and nephews. Virginia graduted form Our Lady of Mercy High School in 1946, St. Mary's School of Nursing in 1949 and Catholic University of America in 1953. She taught at St. Mary's School of Nursing for several years. She continued her career as a school nurse in the Rochester area for 28 years before retiring. Her family will receive friends Monday 2:00 - 4:00pm & 7:00 - 9:00pm at the funeral home. Friends are invited to meet the family Tuesday 9:30am at Blessed Kateri at Christ the King for her funeral mass. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, 275 Lake Ave.
