Obituary of Patrick M. McKeon

McKeon, Patrick Michael Penfield: Began his 'impact" on Rochester, NY with an "Irish Wail" on October 30, 1939. On Thursday, February 2, 2012 at the age of 72 he died and left us all great memories of a loyal, loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and friend. Paddy was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Betty McKeon, son Bill McKeon and son-in-law Scott Stephany. He is survived by his devoted wife of 29 years, Joyce DiStefano McKeon, sons, Patrick(Amy) McKeon, Jr. and Michael(Sarah)McKeon, daughter, Kelly McKeon and their mother and dear friend Carolyn Kennard, step-children, Bill(Kelly)Buttaggi and Alana(Jay)Kelly, grandchildren, Kristen, Mike, Lauren, C.J and Jake McKeon, Tyler and Max Stephany, John Penkitis, Caitlin, Jack and Lia Kelly and Will Buttaggi, brothers, Jim(Nancy)McKeon and Joe(Lisa)McKeon, sister, Darlene(Jim)McCulloch, several nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Pat grew up in the Tenth Ward where he attended Sacred Heart School and John Marshall High School. He served in the U.S Air force in Germany and Turkey, worked for UPS and eventually made his mark on the Rochester sports bar scene including the original California Bew Haus and the Bleachers. Sure, and it was the 'Luck of the Irish" to have known Pat and to benefit from his sense of humor, his generous heart and his loyalty and love for others. No prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass Saturday 1:00pm at Holy Cross Church. Interment will be held in private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Strong Memorial Hospital, 300 East River St.. Rochester, NY 14627.
