Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Quinn, Sr., Robert H. Irondequoit: Predeceased by his beloved wife Mae, his sister Dorothy, and his brothers Clarence, Austin and Richard. Survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Robert (Barbara), Richard (Muriel), Gary (Patricia) and Marie (Ronald) Travaglini. A loving Grandfather to Jennifer (Griff) Long, Colleen (Anthony) Parcero, Rebecca (Thomas) Flynn, Brian (Margaret), Robert (Michelle), Elizabeth (Robert) Trimaldi, Andrew and friend Debra, Geoffrey and friend Kendra. A cherished 'Big Grampa' to his great-grandchildren John, Katelin, Cami, Ella, Thomas, Mae, Robert, Sabina and Molly. A favorite brother-in-law to Mildred Quinn, Joanne Quinn, Jean Quinn and Sara Luttman, and dear to many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friend Jacqueline. In the 99th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army during World War II, Bob fought in the Battle of the Bulge, and was honored with the Bronze Star, Great Britain's King George Medal, and more recently, the New York State Conspicuous Service Cross. His 393rd Regiment was one of the first American units to cross the Remagen Bridge. A dedicated employee of Eastman Kodak for 40 years in Paper Sensitizing, Bob retired in 1982 as a general foreman known for his love of bowling, golf skills and camaraderie with his brothers and Kodak buddies. He was a feisty, entertaining, generous and affectionate man, and is happier now that he is finally reunited with his sweetheart 'Maisie'. Our family sincerely wishes to thank all the talented, caring and compassionate doctors, nurses and medical technicians at Rochester General Hospital for the kindness shown. Mae loved flowers, and Bob loved gardening for Mae, so we will enjoy them as much as you do, but if you prefer, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice, or to honor veterans, as in the Wounded Warrior Project or Salute America's Heroes. His family will receive friends Friday 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Friends are invited to meet the family Saturday 9:30 am at Peace of Christ Parish at St. Ambrose Church for his funeral mass. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
