Please accept my deepest sympathies for the passing of my boyhood friend Richie and accept my apologies for not seeing the paper until Thursday so was unable to pay my respects for him. I did catch up with Richie a few times a couple of years ago when we were both members of the Plaza Athletic club downtown, and he did talk about all of you. We shared some of the things parents talk about, me with my son Jordan and him with his precious daughter Sara. The times I had with him are memorable and very enjoyable. If you want I can e-mail you some stories. The picture in the paper is very representative of his always smiling nature. I can hear his soothing but firm voice that was very much him. He truly was a great friend to share so many great times together.

Dick was our across-the-aisle buddy at Red Wing Stadium. Loved that orange baseball cap. He always had a smile for you and he made you smile too. A great guy. Our hearts and prayers go out to the family.
