Platt, Norris Jay
Irondequoit. Son of John A. and Helen Patten Platt, entered this world on January 28, 1919 and returned to the spirit world on April 16, 2012. Norrie is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn R. Platt; children Robert N. (Nancy)Platt, J. Suzanne(Gary) Baylor, Jonathan P. (Cindy) Platt, J. Norene Platt, Jerry J. (Sheila) Platt, and Douglas B. (Conchetta) Platt, 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and his companion dog, Morgen. The fire radio is off. He retired from Kodak after 41 years, served his country in WWII, served his community 75 years as a Ridge-Culver volunteer firefighter and fire commissioner. He loved Irondequoit, knew its history well and served as Historical Society president.
A celebration of his life will be from 4:00 to 7:00 on Saturday, May 12 at the Ridge-Culver Fire House on Culver Road. Interment will be held in private. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Ridge-Culver Fire Department Explorer Post.
