Obituary of Joan M. Reinhard

Please share a memory of Joan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joan M. Reinhard, 95, passed away peacefully on April 16th with members of her family by her side. Predeceased by her husband John F. (Jack), she is survived by her three children: Sue (Pete) Carter, Andy (Glenda) and Cathy, her primary caregiver; granddaughters Nancy (Erik) Kubecka and Laura Reinhard; in-laws Hugh and Ann Reinhard, nieces and nephews. Joan loved knitting and was also an accomplished seamstress. She had been a volunteer for many years with Meals-On-Wheels and was active in a number of activities at Summerville Presbyterian Church. Born in Charlottetown, PEI, she graduated from Acadia University in Nova Scotia and worked as a Dietician in Toronto before her marriage to Jack in 1948. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her sense of humor, her kindness, her love of life and above all, her love for her family. In honor of Joan's memory and spirit, please consider an act of kindness and smile for someone you know that is in need. The family would like to thank the many Aides from HCR that made it possible for Joan to remain in her home until her passing. We would like to give special thanks to Estella Howard, Tessa King and Sondra Griffin. Joan chose to donate her remains to the University of Rochester's Anatomical Gift Program. A private memorial service will be held at a later date, at the convenience of the family. Donations in her memory may be made to Summerville Presbyterian Church, 4845 St. Paul Blvd., Rochester, NY 14617, or to a charity of one's choice.
