Obituary of George A. Burke

Burke, George A. Irondequoit: May 13, 2012. Age 81, George passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. George gracefully fought a long battle with congestive heart disease and in his final moment was probably heading out the river for a beautiful sail on Lake Ontario. George was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. His passions included family, horses, sailing, animals, golf, a good practical joke, and a beautifully waxed car. He was predeceased by his wife, Joan Cowley Burke; He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ellen Burke; his children, Michelle(John) Gester, Lisa Haun, Eric(Carol) Haun, Kara(John) Rehbaum, Alexandria(Toby) Gillis; Mary Ellen's children; Guy & Christina(Dan); 11 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild. Friends are invited to meet the family FRIDAY 10:00am at Blessed Kateri at St. Margaret Mary Church for his memorial mass. Private Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
