Obituary of Mary M. Spies

Spies, Mary M. Irondequoit: After a 13 year battle against cancer, She was our HERO. Mary passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and all their love on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the age of 70. Predeceased by her son Wayne H. Spies, Jr. and her parents, Philip & Ruth Dwyer. She is survived by her children, Annette Carpenter, John(Andrea)Pratt, Tina Goulden & Robin Macri, Kelly Goulden, Cheryl(Bill)O'Connell and Gary(Chris)Spies, 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Sharon(Sig)Bauriedl, Walter(Bud)Dwyer, Donna(Dick)Walkley, Katie(Mike)Brudek, Betty(Jim)Ethier, Philip Dwyer Jr., Helen(Greg)Genovese and Patti(Don)Soanes, many nieces and nephews. Mary was a strong, caring, loving, devoted woman & mother and an amazing sister who loved and cared for her family, friends and ALL children. She loved her pets Bingo and Church and had a very strong faith. The family wishes to thank Dr. Chawla, Dr. Oliver, Dr. DiPoala, Dr. Phelan and the nurses in the RGH Cancer Center and 5400 unit. Thank you all for your care and support through this long and hard battle. Her family will receive friends Thursday 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy South). Friends are invited to meet the family Friday 10:00 am at Blessed Kateri at St. Salome's Church for her funeral mass. Interment Irondequoit Cemetery.
