Smith, Joanne Gertner (Gertner), (Burbank) Rochester & Baldwinsville, NY. Died Thursday June 21, 2012 with her family around her. Predeceased by her former husbands, Robert P. Burbank and David L. Smith. Joanne is survived by her children Nancy(William)Hodge, William(Diana)Burbank, Jane (Paul)Way and Paul(Deborah)Burbank, twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, brothers, John H. (Margaret) Gertner, and Charles H. (Ann)Gertner, Jr. and her sister Margaret Mary (Peter)MacAdam. Born in Rochester, NY, Joanne was a graduate of Our Lady of Mercy High School, and attended the Rochester Institute of Technology. She was a former volunteer at Auburn Memorial Hospital, a member of the Fayetteville-Manlius Chorale, the Syracuse Chorale, Marcellus Chorale and Ars Nova Chorale. Joanne was also a member of the Weedsport Community Theater and was an avid golfer. No prior calling hours. Please join the family at Peace of Christ Parish at St Ambrose Church, 25 Empire Blvd. Rochester, NY Thursday June 28th at 10:30 am for Joanne's Mass of Christian burial. Inurnment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 2461 Lake Avenue, Rochester, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Mercy High School, Rochester, NY, or St. Mary's Academy, Baldwinsville, NY.
