Obituary of Kay E. Closen

Hudson, Ohio: Formerly of Irondequoit NY, Tuesday, April 2, 2013. Pre-deceased by her husband Gerald G. Closen and her daughter Cynthia Cowan, Mrs. Closen is survived by her children; Mark R. Closen of Rincon PR, Brand (Barbara) J. Closen of Hudson OH, son-in-law Joseph (Nancy) of Penfield NY, grandchildren; Timothy (Jessica ) Cowan, Pamela (Phil) Morgan, Kevin Cowan, Kyle (Heather) Closen, Kelsey Kay Closen and great grand children; Andrew, Matthew, and Joshua Cowan, Paige Morgan.
Kay graduated from Denison University and was married in 1946 to Gerald Closen of Brighton, NY. She spent time working at Wards Science as well as a number of years at the American Red Cross Blood Bank, both in Rochester, NY, while raising her family. Kay was a dedicated volunteer with the Tumbleweed Twig at General Hospital and at the Summerville Presbyterian Church in Irondequoit. Kay enjoyed spending time with family and friends and her smile and personality will be greatly missed. She moved from Rochester to Hudson Ohio in 2010, where she became an active and recognized figure at Laurel Lake's Assisted Living complex.
Her family will receive friends SUNDAY 4-7 pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy South), where her funeral service will be held MONDAY 12:00 Noon. Interment Pittsford Cemetery.
