Obituary of Lorain B. Broadwell

Lorain Barnett Broadwell of West Irondequoit, New York died peacefully in her sleep with family by her side on Thursday, December 17. She was born August 4, 1927 in Atlanta Georgia. She graduated Fitzhugh Lee High School in Smyrna, Georgia and then received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia where she met her husband of 67 years Mid Broadwell. She spent her life helping others, touching many lives with her generous and caring spirit. She attended Wesley Methodist Church, Summerville Presbyterian and more recently was active in the Brighton Presbyterian church. She especially enjoyed visits with her children, grand children and great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Midford M. Broadwell, daughter Teresa Broadwell (Mike Novakowski), son Chris Broadwell (Heather MacLeod), grandsons Wiley Broadwell (Emilee), Ashley Broadwell, Rylan Broadwell (Ksana) and granddaughters Leila Novakowski (Hassan Elminyawi) and Molly Novakowski, brother Lee Barnett (Wanda). She is also survived by four great grandchildren, Corrina, Beauden, Anna and Samy, sisters-in-law Margie Barnett, Dorothy Letson also many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son Bill Broadwell, brother William T. Barnett and sister Henrietta Barnett. Friends are invited to meet the family MONDAY 7-9 pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy. So.). Her Memorial Service will be celebrated at a later date.
