To the Kirstein family: I am truly sorry to hear about Ray's passing. My friend, Alan and I still talk about him often. We were very close to him when he worked at Singer. We always invited him out for "beer and munchies" night. I used to love to go into his office, close the door, sit on his desk and let him know all the "goings on" at the office. He and I would share words in our languages that were similar, since my maternal grandparents spoke yiddish. He will be sadly missed but remembered by us til the end of time. He was a plethora of useful information, extremely brilliant, and had the wittiest remarks we ever heard. He hated swear words. The person in the office next to him used to use the word damn so much that Ray walked in there and asked him if he was a beaver. He said otherwise there was no reason to keep using that word. He loved his family and friends so much. I am grateful that he let me into his circle. I hope you all heal well.
