Dear Loftus Family: We send to you all our deep condolences on the passing of Bill. I knew him at Champion Products and worked with him on many projects over my 20 years there. Bill was such a pleasure to work with in every circumstance. Business means pressure at times--and Bill was always the calming force in meetings and such. More importantly, he was the person you could count on to get what ever needed doing--done! My wife Joan and I visited your family when Helen passed away--she was such a sweet person to be with. Bill and Helen made a wonderful couple. I think we all look back on things we should have done--and did not do. I wish I personally had visited Bill over the years. Though I also know everyone changes--we get involved with our own lives and family-and time slips by too quickly. Bill and I may have been the only two old Champion guys still around in Rochester...(with the recent passing of one of the former salesmen). I will try to represent our Champion work family as respectfully and as well as Bill did. That will be hard to accomplish--as he was such a wonderful person. My deep sympathy to you all. Dear Beth, Bill and Jim, From the days that you were all students at Christ the King to the days that we saw your Mom and Dad out for a Friday fish fry, one thing never changed about your Dad, he was most proud of his children. We both were proud of the fact that we were graduates of Villanova University and would compare notes about their victories in the sports world. May Bill rest in the peace of the Risen Christ.
