Dearest David, Joe, Nancy, Michael O’Connor, & family, Bob & I are very sorry we could not attend calling hours last Sunday or Joe’s mass on Monday. Our sons said they would try & attend Sunday, but then said they could not. We would have loved to have see everyone since it has been so many years since we’ve seen anyone. I remember a family anniversary celebration at Ellison Park for your parents many years ago, & that was probably the last time we've seen anyone. We moved next door to you when our son, Steven, was born in 1963 & Michael was born a few months later. The neighborhood men had a monthly card party at our house with your uncle David and his friend. We remember Joe’s injury during the riots in Rochester in 1964. He & Rose were so wonderful to us & great examples to us while raising our sons & provided much guidance in our faith. I will send a sympathy card to your family through Rick at Harris Funeral Home since I don’t have an address for you. Your dad sent us a wonderful card to let us know when your mom passed with pictures. We loved your mom’s twin sister, Julia, & her husband, Jim, & their Irish accents. I had every intention to keep in touch with Joe, and our son, Steven, used to see him out at Homestead or Duncan Donuts & always kept us informed that he was well. We have so many wonderful memories of your parents & you were all truly blessed. Our home address is 5224 East Lake Rd., Livonia, NY 14487 & our cell number is: 585-281-5480. We have a tele number @ home also - 585-346-5617 but we're planning to leave for FL for the rest of the winter on Jan 17th & that number will be put on vacation. God bless you all & pray you’re all doing well, Bob & Pam Rice

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our Uncle Joe, I have fond memories of him and your mom visiting us in Pennsylvania, and also visiting your family in Rochester.
When he would visit my father they always had great conversations about when they were young growing up together.I am sure they are all up there having the same conversations.
God Bless your family.

I knew Mr O’Connor from Cherry Ridge. He was a great man. Loved to talk about his family and police days. We discovered I knew some of his friends from the neighborhood... God Bless him

Joe was my Godfather. I really didn't get to know him until later in life. He was a great guy. I always enjoyed our conversations and the nice Christmas messages he sent on his cards. I will miss him very much. My love to you, "Uncle" Joe! Patty (Maslyn) Powers
