A beautiful photo of Rex and Pam on the night Rex received his 40 year service pin with the Sheet Metal Workers Local #46. What a great accomplishment.

We are so heart broken to hear of Rex’s passing. My husband and Rex were union brothers with Local #46 and I was a friend of his from Eastridge high school class of 1974. We introduced him to Pam and together they were a happy loving couple. We had some good times together and always enjoyed their company. Words can’t express what a wonderful thoughtful man he was. Always so upbeat and positive right up until the very end of his illness. He loved his family very much and was so proud of them. You will be remembered. Rest In Peace sweet guy. With much love, Lisa and Jon Tantalo

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I knew Rex from the Irondequoit Bay Fish and Game Club. As a relatively new member there, Rex was always warm and welcoming of me and my family. If I saw a picture of Rex not smiling, I wouldn't recognize him. He was always smiling and always had a friendly disposition. He will be missed. Carry on his memory kindly. May he rest in peace. Sincerely, Dan Culhane and Family.

Uncle Rex was such a wonderful person. His personality, laugh, jokes were just infectious. He is one of the greatest people I have had the privilege of having in my life. As the years past the get togethers were few and far between however that does not take away from how much I will/do miss him. I will cherish the memories I have of him, he was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed.

I was a co-worker with Rex for many years at the Leo J. Roth Corp. Rex was always a true gentleman and became a good friend. His cheerful and pleasant demeanor made him very pleasant to be around. This news is extremely sad, and with empty feelings, we offer our sincere condolences to his family and friends. We'll pray for the family's comfort during this awkward period of their lives. May God bless you all. Bob & Mary Lou Ray

I was lucky to know Rex. I got to work with him, sail in his boat, shoot guns, canoe, party and talk over coffee. He was a hard worker, fair, always lived with integrity, was understanding and generous. He was a straight shooter, always told it like it is. He wouldn’t ask anyone to do something he wouldn’t do himself and he had high standards. He’s someone you’re always excited to tell people you know, and proud to say he’s your friend. - Eddy

Rex was the perfect uncle, the kind everyone wishes they could have. He was friendly, caring, generous, interested in what you had to say and best of all he always made us laugh. He was the kind of guy you hoped would come to your party! And he was always a gentleman. I’ll remember how he would always bring me flowers whenever he’d come over for a holiday meal and he would even text me every May to wish me a Happy Mother’s Day. They just don’t make guys like that anymore. We loved him so much. - Kathryn

We had the good fortune to have had Rex in our lives not only as a great brother-in-law but also as a loving uncle to our children and a good friend too. Our family shared many happy times with him, starting with Dick's growing up with him on Corley Drive to our later years raising our families. Dick likes to tell the story about how neat Rex was even as a kid. Even starting when he was young, he took great pride in taking care of his things, including his childhood rings which he kept lined up neatly in his dresser drawer like little soldiers. "Gotta keep things neat, Bud" was one of his favorite sayings, along of course with his favorite greeting, "Howwwdy!" We have many special memories of him, and will miss him terribly. He was so brave, right to the end. Rest in peace, Rex. We love and miss you already.
Love, Val and Dick Dreier
